The dB-ALM-F product can reduce waste pipe noise by up to 27 dB (A). It is the most cost effective, long lasting and easy to install method of meeting building regulations. With just three steps: cut to size, wrap it around, and tape it on, you’ll find installation quick and easy. When controlling noise from pipes, the product used must contain a heavy mass-loaded barrier, which acts to stop noise, deflecting it back into the noise source.
A layer of acoustic foam separates the barrier from the noise source, preventing the barrier from taking on the noise of the pipe.
Our Foam Lagging is an insulating composite material made of a Mass loaded vinyl barrier, and a porous layer made of foam, thus increasing the insulation. In ventilation systems, walls, ceiling, construction and piping for fluids it is the ideal coating to insulate against noise transmitted outside, with its multilayer behavior reducing the transmission of sound.
You should apply around the outside of the tube, taking good care that the lagging material flap is as perfectly sealed as possible.
